Normally, “cooperation” and “competition” are opposing forces — but not in Tennessee’s entrepreneur ecosystem, where we’ve realized that “normal” does not get the job done.
For example, Tennessee’s nine regional startup accelerators — which form a statewide network that is unique in the nation — harness the power of cooperation through statewide engagement and support to ultimately create companies that can effectively compete in the global marketplace. Since January 2013, Tennessee’s accelerator network has screened more than 1,600 companies, engaged more than 600 mentors and helped launch 348 businesses.
