The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and Department of Commerce have “restored American leadership in the protection of intellectual property”, according to USPTO director, Andrei Iancu. The US was ranked number one as the overall global leader on the US Chamber of Commerce Global Innovation Policy Center (GIPC)’s International IP Index, released on 6 February, which ranks the IP climate in 50 world economies.
The US was ranked in second place for patents, related rights, and limitations.
