As a long-time advisor to new entrepreneurs here in the USA, I’ve long been impressed with the number that come here from other countries, and the positive traits that most of these seem to bring with them. Logically, I would expect these non native-born entrepreneurs to be at a big disadvantage, having to learn the culture here, local idiosyncrasies, and new relationships.

The EU no longer aims to bridge the innovation gap in Europe, but to promote “innovation cohesion”, the EU commissioner for research and innovation told the European Commission’s annual research policy conference.

That will require member states to acknowledge the shared goals of EU R&D policy and the effort needed to create the European Research Area (ERA) single market for research.

The archive of the American Philosophical Society, consisting of an ever-expanding universe of 13 million manuscripts and 350,000 bound volumes and periodicals, with images and audiotapes proliferating on a daily basis, has reached the point where it is its own universe.

So it should be no surprise that APS, founded in 1743, has discovered that it possesses an exceedingly rare engraved copy of the Declaration of Independence ordered up by John Quincy Adams two centuries ago, and given to the society in 1842 by Daniel Webster. The society has just announced the discovery.

Decathlon UK has announced a virtual reality tennis related tie up with VR Motion Learning. This will see Decathlon’s UK flagship store in London Surrey Quays present the world premiere of VR Motion Learning’s Tennis Esports offering.

The store has devoted 300 sqm to give customers the opportunity to play VR tennis, starting on Monday, 28th June and running until Thursday, 30th September.

A pair of Baltimore startups are learning from Kansas City as part of the latest cohort of Techstars‘ accelerator in the Missouri metropolis.
