Girl thinking over notebook 2022 03 30 20 23 42 utcI talk a lot about integrity in helping people to establish themselves in business, and for good reason. One of the main things that led me down a very dark path and almost took my life, was living without it. That realization, along with many others, helped me develop these four steps to change anything (and I do mean anything).

F61c85dc d0ff 4f86 9cd4 96092cfca303If an entrepreneur doesn’t find themselves in over their head at least 20% of the time, they are probably not pushing the limits, not taking enough risk, and probably not working on an idea that’s worth doing. President Joe Biden speaks with researchers and patients about ARPA-H, a new health research agency that seeks to accelerate progress on curing cancer and other health innovations, on March 18 in the South Court Auditorium on the White House campus in Washington. (Patrick Semansky/AP)At his State of the Union speech in March, President Joe Biden urged Congress to fund a new federal agency that would “supercharge” breakthrough medical research and “end cancer as we know it.”

Congress responded two weeks later by approving $1 billion for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, or ARPA-H, which will tackle projects that are seen as too costly, risky or time-intensive for the private sector and traditional public research.

F54a95b5 29c8 49d4 a083 1eedf626550cWe all have to communicate and collaborate with other people at work, but most of us start out instinctively trying to maintain an emotional distance from others in the work environment. Inspired by fireflies, MIT researchers have created soft actuators that can emit light in different colors or patterns. CREDIT: Image courtesy of Kevin Chen, Suhan Kim,et alFireflies that light up dusky backyards on warm summer evenings use their luminescence for communication — to attract a mate, ward off predators, or lure prey.

These glimmering bugs also sparked the inspiration of scientists at MIT. Taking a cue from nature, they built electroluminescent soft artificial muscles for flying, insect-scale robots. The tiny artificial muscles that control the robots’ wings emit colored light during flight.
