Russian-American Innovation Technology Week (RANIT) brings together entrepreneurs, scientists, venture  capitalists, and established corporations within the American and Russian technology industries. RANIT, organized  by the Mid-Atlantic - Russia Business Council (MARBC), supported by the City of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, State of New Jersey, Philadelphia U.S. Export Assistance Center of the U.S. Commercial Service, World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia, World Trade Center Delaware, Pennsylvania Bio, Bio New Jersey, Delaware Bio, University City Science Center, Select Greater Philadelphia, Greater Philadelphia Life Sciences Congress, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, National Association of Seed and Venture Funds, Innovation America, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, Association of the Russian Pharmaceutical Manufactures, The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Moscow Entrepreneurs Association, is the most significant semi- annual event devoted to Russian-American technology and  business cooperation. Based on past success, RANIT is now held twice a year, and includes an increasing number of regional technology events, seminars, panel discussions, roundtable meetings, trade shows, conferences, and networking events. The 14th  RANIT will highlight biotechnology, nanotechnology, and the pharmaceutical  industry, and will conclude with participation  in  the  world’s  largest  biotechnology exhibition,  the  2011BIO  International  Convention  in Washington,  D.C.   The Russian delegation will consist of representatives from the foremost Russian companies in biotechnology and related industries, as well as of senior representatives from Russian federal and local governments.

 

14th RANIT-BIO will begin in Philadelphia on June 23-25, 2011
Starting in Philadelphia, special events at RANIT-BIO will include a Welcoming Ceremony and Opening Sessions at Philadelphia City Hall on June 23 and the Russian-American Life Sciences Conference at KPMG’s 36th Floor Convention Center on June 24. This conference co-organized  by  the  Mid-Atlantic  -  Russia Business Council and  Pharmaceutical  Research  and  Manufacturers  of  America,  supported by Synovate Comcon, and  sponsored by AstraZeneca, Amgen, Merck  and KPMG will explore the opportunities to build mutually-supportive  partnerships  between   the  U.S.  and  Russia  in  the  sphere  of  innovative  pharmaceutical development. The conference will consist of in-depth discussions of the investment climate and key policy issues for Russia and the U.S. The conference will also provide an update on the status of ongoing activities in the Health and the Business Development Working-Groups of the US-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission, including plans for enhancing collaboration between the United States and Russia in the areas of public health and biomedical research, and a discussion of policy priorities in these areas.
The Russian delegation will also visit the International Incubator at the Science Center, and meet with members of biotechnology associations from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

BIO International Convention is the world’s largest and most impressive exhibition and conference for experts in the field of biotechnology
As in Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, San Diego, Atlanta and Chicago, the MARBC will again serve as the  official organizer of the Russian delegation to 2011 BIO International Convention in Washington. MARBC will present Russian biotechnology companies and the achievements of Russian scientists and  manufacturers in biotechnology and related industries. Focusing upon “Launching Innovation: Russia's Bio-Infrastructure and Life Sciences Sector” MARBC will present the Russian biotechnology industry at the BIO Convention on June 28, 2011. MARBC will be hosting Closing Ceremony of the 14th Russian-American Innovation Technology Week and Reception at the Center of Culture and Science at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Washington, D.C. on June 30, 2011.
