Venture capital investing in Washington state started out with a whimper in 2013, but it is ending with a bang. After the slow start, as evidenced by the chart above from CB Insights in which just $100 million was invested in the first quarter, things roared to life in the fourth quarter buoyed in part by one blockbuster biotech deal.
