Former AOL chief and Revolution LLC founder Steve Case calls this the “rise of the rest,” and it is a real phenomenon. And yet, as fast as the rest of the country creates startups, Silicon Valley grows even faster, disrupting entire industries, from transportation to lodging, retail and media.
