Following in the footsteps of my hero, Nike’s founder and former CEO Phil Knight, I decided that I would first become a certified public accountant (CPA) before eventually starting my own business. Earning a background in finance seemed the obvious first step to building a successful company, so I put my head down and pushed through years of accounting classes.
