2021 National SBIR Week kicks off in just 28 days! Taking place July 19 – July 23, the event will connect entrepreneurs working on advanced technologies to the country's largest source of early stage funding – the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, which provide over $4 billion in funding to small businesses each year in a wide variety of technology areas. We want innovation to help all people, so we must get all people involved in creating those innovations!
- Make sure your community signs up for opportunities to meet one-on-one and hear directly from the participating federal agency program managers that administer over 7,000 non-dilutive awards annually. Spread the word – get the marketing toolkit: http://sbirroadtour.com/marketing
- Current agenda available on the registration page and attached: https://bit.ly/RegisterSBIRWeek21
- Agenda details will be updated regularly at www.sbirroadtour.com
- There is still time to have your own localized event(s) – highlighting the work you do to support the SBIR ecosystem!
- Submit an Event to SBIR.gov and include National SBIR Week or SBIR Week in the title of the event.
- We will be sending a dedicated email out for National SBIR Week on June 30, so submit by next Monday (June 28) to get your event posted to https://www.sbir.gov/events
- Consider doing prep events for your community before National SBIR Week – putting together quad charts, picking agencies to focus on, etc.
- SSTI has offered to provide assistance to organizations that need help planning an event, highlighting local success stories and services available. Contact Jason Rittenberg (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to learn more.
Especially want to call out a collaboration with the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) and the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) to empower Minority Business Enterprises through the InVision Tour (http://bit.ly/InVisionSBIR2021) event on Wednesday, July 21 at 1 pm ET. All are welcome and encouraged to participate in the sessions to learn about:
- Business resources from MBDA (https://www.mbda.gov/)
- Accessing technology, expertise, and equipment at Federal labs (https://federallabs.org/)
- Partnering with Minority-Serving Institutions
- Success stories from SBIR awardees and companies making use of Federal lab technology
